This is crazy. People are saying vegans can’t build strength & muscle because vegan protein sucks. And if they are strong and muscular, then they must’ve made their gains on animal proteins and are only maintaining now.
Or they must’ve been vegan from weaning and their parents must’ve been vegan for at least 10 years before conceiving or it doesn’t count.
What?
Take 2 groups: one has 200 grams of animal protein and the other has 200 grams mixed vegan proteins and resistance trains. Who’s going to make more gains?
Resistance training >>>>>> dietary protein source.
Pre-requisites: a variety of vegan proteins if considering this route. Adequate total protein intake. In this context, resistance training is going to make a helluva bigger difference than protein source.
How about this: one group has 200 grams of animal protein and the other has 175 grams of mixed vegan proteins and resistance trains. Who’s going to make more gains?
150 grams of mixed vegan proteins?
Where will the difference surface? Increasing dietary protein (regardless of animal/plant) without resistance training with do next to nothing for muscle mass & strength.
My point: resistance training >>> animal/plant protein source.
